How we list companies
Texas Junk Guys is an independent directory. We don't haul anything, we don't endorse any company, and we don't rank companies by who pays us. Here's exactly how listings work.
Who gets listed
We list Texas businesses that offer junk removal or dumpster rental. Most listings start from public business information on Google Maps: name, address, phone number, website, hours and Google rating. Some come from lists we put together ourselves, and some are sent in by the businesses.
A person checks every new listing before it goes live. Likely duplicates are flagged automatically, and businesses that don't actually haul junk or rent dumpsters are left out. Being listed is free, and no business pays to be included.
Which cities a company appears in
A company appears on the page for the city it's based in and on the pages for nearby cities within a set distance of its location. That keeps a Houston hauler off a Lubbock page. If the owner claims the listing, they can set the cities they serve themselves.
A city's page only appears on our service pages once enough companies serve it to give you a real choice.
What a listing shows
Each listing shows the company's name, the areas it serves, its phone number and website, and its Google rating and review count. Ratings are labelled as Google ratings. We don't write reviews, and we don't copy review text onto this site.
We don't publish prices, rank companies as “best”, or add claims about them. A short description appears only when the business owner wrote it.
What “Owner-verified” means
An Owner-verified badge means someone proved they run the business, either with a code sent to the business's phone number or by signing in with an email address on the business's own website domain. We review each claim before approving it.
The badge confirms who manages the listing. It isn't a check of licensing, insurance or the quality of the work.
The order companies are listed in
Every company that serves a city is listed in alphabetical order (A–Z). That order is not for sale, and payment never moves a company up or down the list. You can re-sort the list yourself by Google rating, number of Google reviews, or owner-verified first; those orders come only from the listing details, never from payment.
Paid placements
Businesses can pay for a spot above the A–Z list on a city page. There are two kinds, and both are always labelled:
- City Spotlight (paid): one company at the top of the page.
- Featured (paid): a small number of companies in a labelled row above the A–Z list.
A paid card can also show photos of the company's own work. Paid companies still appear in their normal place in the A–Z list. Paying doesn't remove other companies or change what a listing is allowed to say.
Where your quote request goes
Your request goes to one company, never to a list of companies. If a company holds the City Spotlight for that page, it goes to that company. Otherwise it goes to an owner-verified company that serves your area, picked by its Google rating and how reliably it answers requests. If that company can't take the job, we pass it to the next one.
The company only sees your contact details after it accepts your request, and we email you when that happens.
Corrections and removals
If a listing is wrong, the company has closed, or a photo shouldn't be there, tell us through the contact form and we'll fix or remove it. Business owners can also claim their listing and edit it themselves.
Before you hire
Listing details come from public sources and can go out of date. Confirm the price, what's included, insurance and the date with the company before you book. We don't haul anything ourselves, and we don't set or guarantee anyone's prices.
